Catch

Drag or touch to move

Back to Games

How to play

Colored balls drop from the top of the screen and you slide a paddle along the bottom to catch them. Drag with your finger or mouse to move, and every catch is worth one point. You have 3 lives, and each ball that hits the floor costs one. Balls fall faster and spawn more often as your score climbs, so no run lasts forever.

Tips

A paddle game about reading trajectories

Catch looks like a reflex game and is mostly a prediction game. Every ball falls in a straight line, so where it will land is known from the moment it appears at the top of the screen. The skill is reading that line early and moving the paddle to the landing point before the ball is anywhere near it, rather than tracking the ball down and lunging at the end.

The pressure comes from density. Balls fall faster and spawn more often as your score climbs, so late in a run there are several in the air at once and the paddle has to be in more than one place. That is the point at which every run ends, and the score is how far you got before it did.
